I feel like I want to sell my brz....
I've had it for a year. It's been good. But I'm just not thrilled with it. I use it as a daily driver and while the mpg is great, the low slung, sporty ride, loudish interior isn't. It's getting beat up due to boston daily driving. (Random door dings etc). Which makes me mad. And I already have the sti for my fun car. So it sorta doesn't make sense. Don't regret buying it. But I think it may have run it's course. Thinking of buying an f150 or other truck/SUV esque vehicle to get in and out of work and not care if it gets dinged up. Something cheaper too. Cut back on costs etc.
Am I crazy? Can someone talk some sense Into me either way? I owe money on the brz. So that's a factor aswell. And no, the sti isn't getting sold. That car stays. Halp?

the heart wants what the heart wants. Park it for a week or two and drive the sti. see if you miss the brz or not. I personally prefer something a little softer sprung for daily driving. Having your fillings rattled out from all the bumps and holes in the road gets old real fast.

It makes more sense to sell the STi and get a more normal car for your DD if the BRZ is too rough, and keep it as the sports car. If you need awd/4x4 then get a Jeep.

Would the F150 be used? I don't think a very new F150 would save you much. A BRZ and STi doesn't make too much sense to me either. Although I wish I woulda been able to get one of the two.

Sell BRZ, purchase Baja.
Naw but really I'd keep the BRZ if I was you. While the STI is faster, its still practical. Why have 2 practical cars?

The dings make me mad too. I hate that.
For me, i'm not really bugged by a sporty ride or crappy/loud interior (my car has both!) I just try to remember, every time I drive it that i'm getting to drive something special. Other people are punished on a daily basis with ordinary driving experiences in ordinary cars. I get to drive something awesome, involving and connected. All the time. And for that, I'm lucky despite everything that sucks about my car.

I was just looking online at the Nissan NV200 (Compact Van) because I saw one locally just this afternoon. Would it be wrong to consider one of these?

I went to school in Mass.
Cars get beat up...the weather, the roads, the other drivers (If you dont know Mass DRIVERS are HORRENDOUS). They have no clue the left lane is for passing, none of them have any EZ pass (PEOPLE WHO DAILY DRIVE TO BOSTON DONT HAVE AN EASY PASS) its comical...its the only place i've see with more cash lines then EZ pass lines. SHOCKING in 2014...I think my parents first go it in 94.
I digress...If youre daily driving a BRZ and you have an STI sounds like you do alright.
Assuming you live outside of Boston since your driving and not taking the T or the Tram to work.
My suggestion is get rid of it...the car serves no purpose in Boston and I think its VERY overhyped. Honestly if you wanted 2 Dr / RWD thats fun to drive there are TONS better options especially in the used market for the same money (Z4 coupe, 135 , G37/370z
But honestly the car you SHOULD get and I'm on the record repeatedly for this car...but it makes even MORE sense since youre in boston.
BMW X5 35d...absolute CRUISER to driver gobbs of low end torque for highway passing...Great seating position and AWD with better clearance than the STI and room to carry people and gear.
If you think its a Boring SUV experience, go test drive one...mash your foot down from 0-50, or from 60-90 and tell me its boring...plus for an SUV handling and steering are superb.

It's probably still in good shape, just a few door dings. Pretty much any car in NYC or Boston will have door dings.

But your BRZ is such a good looking car!
I just picked up a "sensible" daily driver 2002 VW Golf 2.0 and my god is it slow and boring. On the other hand driving over bumps and filling the tank with regular it nice.
Sell it/trade it for a Cooper S or GTI?
On a side note I cannot wait to replace the control arms on the e30, get nice new tires on it, redo the exhaust and meet you guys at autox.
Why do you want a truck/SUV?

Are you just looking for a DD that can take a beating? Maybe keep the BRZ for weekends, and a DD an old, used, non-WRX Impreza? or something even cheaper and more beat? Just simple transportation that won't be new and you can ignore the dings & dents?

I think you would get tired of a F150 everyday too. Lots of body roll, uncomfortable seats, boring cabin.. What about something comfortable, quiet inside, with more luxury, but still some sportiness? Like a Lexus IS, 335i, Acura TSX? That doesnt help with the door ding dilemma, but it will be a nice place to be.

I don't see the reason for the jump from a sports car to a truck. Why not just get a reasonable sedan?

I meant to rough on him (loud, stiff ride) not the condition of the car.

Very true.
My only comment on it is that when stuck in rush hour traffic for 2 hours a day. You don't get to feel any of the actual sports car bits....

Yea. It would make sense that way. However I have this connection with the sti. And that car isn't going anywhere. The brz just hasn't done enough for me to make it any more than just a "car" unfortunately.
There are things that make sense. Unfortunately I tend not to do them!

Thanks. That's a great reply. I actually was looking at x3/x5's this morning. Are there good/bad years to look out for in reliability?

Utilitarian use basically. I hate delivering my Xmas tree on the roof of the sti etc. another sensible dd could be in order. Did always like those minis. I guess I'm still all looking at it all.

Yea it's be used. It'd be a purpose vehicle that would get beat up. So new doesn't make sense. If I can get it cheap enough. Love saving money whenever I can lol

She is Alison Brie, a main character in Community and Mad Men. Also a total hottie.

Also that second pic makes her look totally different.

Thats because most images of her are from the show Community, where her character is done up like a innocent-fresh-outta-highschool-girl.
But really, she is sexy though.

YES!!! some are good some are bad...and certain options cause issues.
There's tons of info online...what years are you looking at? 2004 and newer is when the 6 sp tranny got put in the 4.4 V8 so it gets 22mpg
The 2nd generation the 35 or 35d can be tuned and are EXTREMELY quick too but great cruisers and comfortable.
